About the event

Hanover Township’s 2018 Backpack Distribution, co-sponsored by Cook County Commissioner Tim Schneider and State Representative Fred Crespo is set for Wednesday, August 8 at the Astor Avenue Community Center, 7431 Astor Avenue in Hanover Park. Backpacks will be distributed beginning at 9AM until supplies last. Township youth will receive a free backpack filled with school supplies. Proof of residency is required with a limit of one backpack per child.

Donations are being accepted!

Most needed items includes: backpacks, notebooks, loose leaf paper, pencils, markers, crayons, scissors, flash drives, blue pens and glue sticks. Donations of gift cards to use for the purchasing of school supply items are appreciated as well as any donation of supplies.

Last year, more than 1,275 backpacks filled with school supplies were given to Township youth.

Supplies can be dropped off at the following Township locations: Town Hall, 250 S. IL Route 59 in Bartlett; Hanover Township Senior Center, 240 S. IL Route 59 in Bartlett; Hanover Township Astor Avenue Community Center, 7431 Astor Avenue in Hanover Park and Hanover Township Izaak Walton Center, 899 Jay Street in Elgin.
